Not many Artist's have the ability and talent to capture a true likeness of their sitter, but Mel has perfected this over the years. She loves to try and bring out each individuals personality and character in the portrait. She paints in Oils on Canvas and has been commissioned from all areas of the world, not only for people but animal portraits too. Her latest Portraits are of children who offer such great expressions and colourful outfits.
Mel prefers to work from photographs which she has taken herself, so if possible, she
will arrange with you a suitable time to visit and start to take photos
of different poses, outfits, and different lighting qualities, always helping
you to feel at ease until you are happy with the images.
 Afterwards, Mel will make her first selection and then from that, you can decide together
which photo you both like the most and she will work from that. This
method is most suited
to children who do not sit still for too long.
If it is not suitable to take photos or the portrait is a gift for someone, then a good quality, detailed photo can be given to her for her to work from.
Prices vary depending on size of canvas, travel distances (Desirable areas are London, and the Home Counties) and length of
time it takes to get the photo. Prices start at £500 and most portraits will take 2 months to complete and semi dry, but this depends on the individual requirements.
